One hobby of the video game's fans is to try to imagine how a recent game could be on an old video game system like the NES or the GameBoy. That's demakes!
Some adapts
GoldenEye 64 for GameBoy with the same levels, missions, objectives, etc. Others adapts
recent Megaman on NES, as they always should be. I've even seen a demake of
Wipeout on a vectorial system.
Pierce Brosnan in 8 bits, cool!
We can even suppose that the experience is the same in terms of feelings, challenge and gameplay mechanisms. The power of recent consoles don't do everything!
Where are the games that gives us the same experience than the old 2D Zelda (The GameBoy version is mythic!), Flashback (the best adventure/platform ever) or Final Fantasy 7 (the game with no textured 3d models)?
To complete this post, here are pictures of a
contest consisting in doing demakes of recent games. It's just a pixel art contest (there are no playable games) but that funny :)
